CARL Rogers 2020 Annual Conference
Our theme this year – Finding inner strength, connection and opportunity in times of crisis is particularly apt given the challenges all of us are facing. We’re adapting to the Corona-challenge by moving this year’s conference to an e-format via Zoom. We are compressing our agenda into three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 7 – August 9, making it easier to fit into people’s schedules.
Antonio Santos is hosting a weekly PCA International Zoom meeting, which is held on alternating Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6AM Pacific Daylight Time. This start time accommodates the needs of attendees who are spread across the globe. The meeting runs for two hours, and is well attended by members of the International PCA Community – CSP and others. The meetings draw 50 or more attendees.
These meetings take place weekly on Friday’s from 12 noon to 3PM, Pacific Daylight Time. We generally have around 14 people attending from around the US and the world. The purpose is to allow attendees to feel Community and Support as we Encounter with one another. The meeting is open to all CSP members, as well as to others who the members may recommend.
Person Centered Psycotherapy
Carl R. Rogers developed a profound practice and understanding of psychotherapy. Rogers’ essential insight is that certain qualities of the relationship between therapist and client (or person and person) can be learned and practiced to create an optimal interpersonal climate for personal growth, development, and healing.
Once a week for over 15 years Pat Howley has facilitated meetings in his home for people who see themselves on a spiritual quest. It began simply with the practice of Shikantaza, (“merely sitting”). We sat in silence with the aim of emptying our mind of thoughts. It is the most difficult thing to do in meditation.
David Day is hosting, and Will Stillwell is facilitating, CSP Encounter meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month. The meetings go from 6:30PM to 9PM PST.
PCA International - Whatsapp Group
Rodrigo Rezende has established a WhatsApp group to facilitate connections, mutual support and friendship across the world between PCA (Person Centered Approach) professionals. The purpose of the group is be open to all PCA professionals and having no connection with events or associations. More than 200 people have subscribed to the group, exchanging experiences and enriching us with feelings.
