Bruce MeadorBruce Staffel Meador attended the public schools of San Antonio, Texas, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School. His education includes the United States Merchant Marine, The University of the South and the National University of Mexico. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the National Institute of Mental Health to study at the Western Behavioral Sciences Institute with the psychologist Carl Rogers. For the past 35 years he has been a Director of The La Jolla Program at the non-profit Center for the Studies of the Person in La Jolla, California. His mother, Hazel, and father, Ross, and sister, Hazel, and brother, Ross, are not living. He has two brothers; Henry Meador of San Antonio, Texas and John David Meador of Banglamung, Thailand. He has eight grandchildren, Eva, Matt, Bridget, Naomi, Aedin, Ami, Leah and Daniel. He is the author of two books of poetry, Teach A Deer To Dance and Have You Heard The River Laugh.
