Cross-Cultural Communication Workshop Szeged, Hungary July 6-12, 2009
In 1984 Carl Rogers held a Cross-Cultural Communication Workshop in Hungary, which changed many people’s life and greatly facilitated education, psychotherapy etc. in Hungary and in other Eastern European countries.
We have approached Center for Studies of the Person for assistance in organising a twenty-fifth anniversary of this event. My dream is that this will be an important event again in the life of the participants and a revitalisation of the person-centered approach in our countries.
The planning committee will develop a plan (a second-best design), believing that the best design will emerge in Szeged. We plan to arrive on Monday by 6 pm to a Hungarian Welcome. We plan Large Groups every day; two Small Groups each day; one Topic Group (Education, Clinical, Organisations, Religion and Political / Peace); one Evening Panel each day. We plan a Hungarian Goodbye on Sunday morning.
If you have suggestions for the evening panels, let us know. We intend to publish a book of papers after the conference. If you have papers, send them electronically to the Technical Organiser.
There will be partial scholarships available up to ½ workshop fee. Requests should be made to the Scholarship Committee. You should plan to make a contribution to the conference equal in value to the scholarship you request. Spell out your proposed contribution in your request. The Committee will consider it.
